When Amir joined the fish-farming programme, he was uncertain about his ability to adapt to a structured working routine. Through daily feeding, equipment maintenance and basic monitoring activities, he gradually learned the value of consistency and teamwork.
As his confidence grew, Amir began to see aquaculture as more than an activity. It became a possible pathway towards productive work and a fresh start after release.
When Amir first joined the fish-farming programme, he was quiet and hesitant to take on responsibility. He had little prior exposure to structured vocational training and was unsure whether he could learn a new skill.
Through hands-on activities, he learned how to support daily feeding routines, monitor basic water conditions, maintain equipment and work as part of a team. The experience gave him more than technical knowledge. It helped him develop discipline and understand the importance of consistency.
As the programme progressed, Amir became more confident in completing assigned tasks and communicating with others. He began to see aquaculture not only as an activity within the institution, but also as a possible pathway towards productive work after release.
For him, the programme marked an important step towards rebuilding self-belief.
